Simon Cowell gets Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Simon Cowell loves being famous.<br /><br /><br /><br />The 58-year-old music mogul was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday and joked to the assembled crowd about having had to wait for the permanent tribute.<br /><br /><br /><br />He quipped: "Why did this take so long? If anyone says fame is a bad thing, I don't know what you're talking about. It's the best thing in the world."<br /><br /><br /><br />Simon praised his "rock" girlfriend Lauren Silverman and admitted he'd always dreamed of having a star on the iconic pavement before getting emotional talking about his late parents.<br /><br /><br /><br />He said: "I have a feeling they are looking down and now I can look over to my son, Eric, and say, 'Maybe one day you will get one of these as well.'"<br /><br />
